The Nen'la class is a class of vessel used by the Tau Empire. It's name indirectly translates to "Hunter" or "Shadow Warrior"

Background[]

The Nen'lar-class was originally developed as a personal project under the direction of the Ethereal Aun'El Ty'ros Rho. For many tau'cyr he had been organizing several pet projects for the eventuality of the 4th Sphere Expansion. He immediately recognized the need for a stealthy vessel able to infiltrate and exfiltrate undetected, especially for Pathfinders. So he diverted funding to created a stealthly and warp capable vessel.

In 965.M41, the first prototype was successfully built.

Layout[]

Nen'la-class ships closely resemble the Kir'la (Warden) Carrier Escorts in it's shape. The whole ship has a wing like shape. The bridge is located close to the front of the ships. Underneath the ship is a small ventral hangar where an entire Hunter Cadre can be deployed via a squadron of Orca Dropships.
